FIGHT CHOREOGRAPHY WORKSHOP
CST is excited to be able to offer a stage fight choreography workshop in preparation for the 2012-2013 Season Premiere of The Three Musketeers by Ken Ludwig. The workshop is being run by Steve Whetzel of the Shadow Players Stage Combat team of Raleigh, NC. Mr. Whetzel is also the fight choreographer for The Three Musketeers.
This workshop is open to anyone (doesn't matter if you plan on auditioning or not) and will focus on Renaissance era weapons such as the rapier. It is an excellent opportunity for anyone in the Goldsboro area to get some history on the techniques, stage fight experience, and safety training.
The five hour workshop will be held on Saturday, June 9th, 2012 starting at 10:00am at Cornerstone Commons (at the corner of Center and Chestnut Streets in Downtown Goldsboro). If there is enough interest, a second workshop may also be available on June 10th.
The cost for the workshop is $30.00/person for members of Center Stage Theatre and $35.00/person for non-members. The funds collected from this workshop will go directly to deferring production costs of The Three Musketeers. The deadline to sign up is May 18th.

Center Stage Theatre presents its fifth annual production of the Charles Dickens classic. Come see what many have already called a Goldsboro Holiday Tradition. In A Christmas Carol, Dickens invents the modern concept of “Christmas Spirit” and offers one of the world’s most adapted and imitated stories. We know Ebenezer Scrooge, Bob Cratchit, Tiny Tim, and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future, not only as fictional characters, but also as icons of the true meaning of Christmas in a world still plagued with avarice and cynicism. Join Scrooge as he changes his ways after viewing his life, and the lives of others, through new eyes.

Center Stage Theatre returns to its roots! We originally performed Show Boat during our very first season in 1979, and now it’s time to bring it back, bigger and better than ever in celebration of our 35th Anniversary. Spanning the years from 1880 to 1927, this lyrical masterpiece concerns the lives, loves and heartbreaks of three generations of show folk on the Mississippi, in Chicago and on Broadway (and their life-long friends). The plot follows Magnolia, the naive daughter of the captain, as she marries a gambler and moves with him to Chicago. His gambling continues, and soon he deserts her and their daughter. The passing of time reunites Magnolia and her grown daughter with her family as well as with her husband, who eventually returns offering a hopeful second chance at familial fulfillment.
