AN EVENING OF ONE-ACTS
MURDER, MYSTERY, & MAYHEM
GET A CLUE!
By Alex Garnett and Greg Lotze
Directed by Gene McLendon
In this delirious one-act comedy-murder mystery, evil doctor Gregory Namlive uses a tycoon's questionable
death (was it suicide or murder, and if murder, who killed him?) to frame his archnemesis, world-famous detective Shawn
Richardson for murder. At the same time, he means to steal Shawn's unfaithful wife Susan, the town's most infamous "street
walker," (known to everyone but Shawn) out from under his nose. He invites a motley crew of suspicious characters up to his
mansion to hunt for clues regarding the murder. Also on the scene are a scheming butler and maid, an insane lawyer, a
gold-digging socialite, two phony psychics, a complete loser, two cops and an evil twin. This play pokes delicious fun at
everything from Austin Powers to "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire." Turning tables faster than you can say red herring, this
comedy-mystery spoof delivers laughs by the barrel.

A JURY OF HER PEERS
One-act drama adapted by Burton Bumgarner
From the short story by Susan Glaspell
Directed by Erika Boyd
A farmer has been found dead and his wife, Minnie, is the prime suspect. The sheriff, a deputy and other
men meet at the lonely farmhouse to go over the evidence while two wives gather some clothes and necessities for Minnie,
who is in jail. Two neighbor ladies, the Gains sisters, arrive to see what they can learn about the disturbing events of
the previous day. As the men go about the business of investigation, the women make a remarkable discovery: the motive for
the crime. Set in 1917, three years before women had the right to vote or serve on juries, the women become Minnie's jury.
The story, which features four powerful female roles, is a fascinating work of moral and social conscience, as well as an
intriguing murder mystery.

chocolate covered cherry from a box given anonymously. At that moment, she dies. Det. Larry Stark, L.A.P.D., and his
